𝗥𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟮 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗼.
The girls took up the captaincy mantel this week, as Beth Redfern aimed to extend team blacks lead and a late withdrawal from Sarah Bellew saw Jo Devine pull in the armband for team red in the hope to tie the series with a win.

Following the warm up and quick handling drills, we tapped off.
It wasn’t long before team red went over the whitewash as James Simons ran the sweep line and slid over for their first. 1-0
Not to be outdone, Hugh Spencer ran sweep and threw long to the winger to level the scoreline. 1-1
A well executed scoop from last weeks winning captain Bruce Bailey saw Paul Rio diving through the air like a salmon to put team black ahead. 1-2 red.
With minutes to go in the first third, Simons scooped from 20m out, with blistering pace and put in Overbury, to equal.
2-2 as the whistle blew for a quick sanitise break and team talk.
Team red came out all guns blazing as Overbury’s scoop broke the defensive line and he found Luke who dotted down to put them ahead. 2-3
A great drive and transition from team black was the reply, as Bruce fixed the defence and fed Captain Redfern in the corner to even things up.
3-3 going into the next break with everything still to play for.
Team black ran the tap off move, and executed it to perfection as Bruce put them ahead. 3-4 red.
Newcomer Luke Hickson saw himself finding a gap in the middle of the defence and turned on the afterburners to score their 5th. 3-5 to red.
Acheson thought he was getting on the assists list, but to no avail as a late pass was called by the referee. Similarly Heselwood’s scoop saw him into the in goal area, but just couldn’t get the ball away in time.
Overbury ran a perfect hammer line as he scored his second of the night. 4-5.
The try of the night came next as Hugh and Bruce set-up a 33 scoop, great patience from Spencer as he glided passed a scrambling defence and put Maguire over for his first of the night. 4-6.
Some fancy footwork from Heselwood brought team black equal, with little time on the clock. 5-6 to black.
As the dying seconds came around, Simons chopped a perfect line and came blazing through and made it all even. 6-6
Another excellent night of Touch. Great to see the return of Corrie, Helen and Phil tonight, and Tobi returning from his recent injury too.
Excellent play by both teams, and a shout out to Becky Ashton who had an outstanding game tonight, along with newcomer Alex Wood who’s approach to the game and speed at which he’s progressing is great to see.
