NW Development Series | Round 3 / Results and Standings

Eight North West teams headed to Burnage RFC for round 3 of the Development Series.

A very warm welcome to Chester, who took part for the first time this series.

The pools were evenly split, following results and standing from the past 2 events, and saw some great action across both divisions, with some great and unexpected results across the board. Pool A saw Current Series leaders, Super Chargers, were held to a 2-2 draw against Cheetarahs, Last years winners, Blaze, had a mixed bag, with W/L/D in their first three games, Knight were taking time to find their feet with a couple of narrow losses.

Pool B had Turbos taking a loss against the Cubs, who topped the group, Orrell and MMU both looking to develop as they progress through the season, with only 1 win between them over the pool games

Pool standings - Pool A

  1. Super Chargers

  2. Chester Cheetaras

  3. Blaze

  4. Warrington Knights

Pool standings - Pool B

  1. Chester Cubs

  2. Turbo Chargers

  3. MMU Touch

  4. Orrell Anvils

The Knockout rounds started with a tight game between Orrell and Blaze, with Blaze taking the W with a 4-3 scoreline. The Knights took the other semi with a 7-3 win over MMU, taking them to the Bowl Final.

The Cup Semi Finals saw two club derbys, as Chester Cheetarahs took on the cubs, with Cheetarahs taking the win in drop off. A similar show on field one, as Supers played Turbos that was 2-2 at the final whistle, that saw Robinson throw the winning 30m pass to the winger to claim the win and a place in the final.
